And now we wait.

Mercury is retrograde and now we wait.

This season insists we slow down but fires us up with questions and teases us to break free.

So we’re restless. We’re confronting painful truths that we may yearn to escape. We have so many questions that we just can’t answer right now. But it could be especially satisfying to investigate and dig deeper.

Go ahead and surrender to this process. There’s meaning in the mayhem. Make time to pause, reflect and reassess. Something serious, with long term consequences has pulled focus over the last couple of weeks. We may work even harder to find solutions now and through December.

If you’re Gen X or Gen Z, old wounds and traumas you thought were packed away long ago may re-emerge in the next month for another look. Your ancient abandonment issues, the ones you manage with control, may need attention.

Let it all be okay. Even the painful pieces. This is temporary.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed or anxious, I can help.

There’s a New Moon on Saturday night at 9° Sagittarius, right on the fixed star Antares, which means “the rival of Mars.” This is a high energy placement for the moon that could be channeled into violent conflict abroad or bring fearless optimism, personally.

There are so many double-bodied signs involved in this lunation that our heads may be swimming. So many plates spinning! Yet the tech is wonky and everybody’s running late and interminable games of phone tag begin now. Arguments will likely get you nowhere.

Sagittarius is a bohemian energy that smells like the inside of a temple. It’s the archetype of the spiritual seeker, the guru, the wise teacher. With Mercury and the New Moon here, we may seek comfort in spiritual rituals or spiritual teachings. Deeper truths are more likely to resonate now.

New Moons are often slower and more contemplative periods when we tend to our inner lives. But this one carries the heat of a fresh start after a tough realization. We’ll change our minds more than once in the coming weeks, but for now, Mercury retrograde can’t keep us down. There’s a need to move even it’s just running in place.

Schedule time to get outside. Get your blood pumping. Just watch your step and don’t overestimate your abilities out there.

Remember, recovering a sense of meaning doesn’t have to be a solemn process. Maybe your prayer practice looks like smashing old TVs in a rage room. Leo and Aquarius, I’m looking at you. That oncoming Mars-Pluto opposition is no joke.

There’s just as much room around this New Moon for incense-burning reflection as there is for the ‘f*ck it’ fun of a living room dance party. Find levity where you can. Comedy is Sagittarius’ love language. This is your invitation to reset your dials to “joy.”
