It’s the end of an era

It’s time to release the past and turn your attention, wholeheartedly, to the next chapter. This 29° Capricorn Full Moon may be a wake up call to a job well done, but nevertheless, complete.

While last month’s Capricorn Full Moon was steeped in grief, confronting us with the limits of our own wishful thinking, this full moon signals a sea change.

If you need help navigating this vibe, consider a reading with me here.

The end of an era is upon us. Whatever stands in the way of progress must be buried and mourned. Make a commitment to the future and move on.

This is Capricorn energy. At the last degree of its sign. It’s purposeful, pragmatic and realistic. And committed to tradition.

The 29th degree is a powerful place in astrology. It suggests all the lessons of the sign have been learned and it’s time to hastily move to the next chapter. At this lunation, we have one foot in a rapidly receding past - 29° Capricorn Full Moon - and one foot at the dawn of the future - Pluto at 0° Aquarius.

The Cancer New Moon on July 5 bathed us in nostalgia and tenderness. And it’s human nature to take one last look before you go. Now, the melancholia lifts to reveal the magic of this moment.

A sense of urgency and clarity pushes us into new territory. We’re driven by a bold sense of purpose to cast off the old paradigm, purge inherited emotional patterns and commit to a more innovative way of doing things.

Fresh ideas are percolating. This is a lightbulb moment. Despite the inherent risks associated with innovation, this full moon invites a refreshing new perspective. We’ve done the hard work. Now it’s time to demonstrate our mastery.

Consider Capricorn in your own chart. This is where we are the most diligent, and take the most responsibility. The full moon highlights just how much work has been done and just how ready you are to release it into the world. This could feel like a relief. Or a big risk you’re ready to take.

The ripple effect that comes from this release could last for months as Pluto transits through 29° Capricorn from Sept. 1 to Nov. 19. A very long story is ending here. Maybe one that began in 2008 when Pluto first began its epic renovation of the Capricorn area of life.

This full moon illuminates what that 11-week process will be about as it purges the last bits of toxicity that are holding you back.

Don’t know where this is happening in your natal chart? Find out in my Astro Basics workshop.

The deep excavation in the Aquarius part of life started as Pluto entered that sign March-June 2023 and grew more intense starting January this year.

On Nov. 19, it returns to Aquarius through 2044. During the next 20 years, notions of independence, innovation and freedom will be turned inside out, both personally and culturally.

So ask yourself: What have you been renovating since 2008? What part of that needs to be released? Consider March-June 2023 and January to now. What part of that effort is ready to be launched? Is it time to harness the courage to take that to the next level?
